This course is a sector-specific version of the Practice Management Course, designed for those who are or wish to act in the role of supervising legal practitioner of a community legal centre or similar NFP organisation.
In addition to covering basic practice management core subjects, this course provides insight on the unique challenges faced by community legal sector practitioners. Participants are not required to undertake a Trust and Office Accounting module.
This online course is accredited by the Legal Practice Board of Western Australia for supervising legal practioners at community legal centres in Western Australia. The course also provides CPD units for practice management and ethics.

Online component
You will have access to your online materials one week prior to the Orientation Date. These online materials contain pre-reading (approximately 15-20 hours). They also contain compulsory exercises that must be completed prior to completion of the course and to obtain your PMC Statement.

The course covers the following 8 key areas:
Module 1: Financial management
Module 2: Risk management
Module 3: Practice management and workflow systems
Module 4: Business planning
Module 5: Business development and marketing
Module 6: Leadership, management and self-management
Module 7: Ethics and professional standards
Module 8: Innovation and legal technology
On successful completion of the LPMC, you can claim 8.5 CPD units.
Only the LPMC Western Australia course is an approved CPD activity for Western Australian practitioners.
The program covers the mandatory requirements of Ethics and Professional Responsibility, Practice Management and Business Skills, Professional Skills and Substantive Law..

Yes it does. For successfully completing the LPMC, you may receive one subject specified credit towards postgraduate study.
*Note NSW Practitioners may require additional activities.
