The College of Law wishes to express its condolences to the family of the late Professor Sandford Delbridge “Sandy” Clark AM who died in Melbourne on 2 November 2022. Sandy was a distinguished professor at the University of Melbourne Law School. He was known to generations of Melbourne law students. He became a member of the Law Admissions Consultative Committee in 1984 and served as its Chairman from 2006-2019. The College was particularly grateful to Sandy for his tireless work in overseeing the way law graduates undertook practical legal training (PLT) prior to their admission to practice. The College, as the largest provider of PLT in Victoria, worked closely with Sandy and had the benefit of his wisdom and guidance in the introduction of the new PLT system in Victoria from 2004 and in the years following.
The College of Law, its Principal and Chief Executive Officer Neville Carter AM and all its staff, especially those in Victoria, are sorry to learn of the passing of a distinguished lawyer and a leader in legal education in Australia.
