ABOUT YOUR GRADUATION

When will I graduate?

Our Autumn Graduation will take place on Monday 12 May 2025. We are happy to confirm that the event will be held between:

5.30pm - 7.30pm
The Strangers Dining Room
Parliament House, Macquarie Street
Sydney, NSW 2000
Registrations open at 5:00pm

Should you be unable to attend the event, your award will be conferred in absentia and the completion documents express posted to you within two weeks of conferral. A formal invite will be forwarded to eligible graduands closer to the ceremony date.

Getting to the venue

Entry is via the Gatehouse on Macquarie Street, just next door to the State Library.

The closest parking stations are:

 

Train travel

The nearest train stations are Martin Place and St James.

 

Bus travel

Buses run in Macquarie, Elizabeth and Castlereagh Streets. Route numbers 200, 309, 324, 325, 326, 327, 333, 339, 343, 373, 374, 376, 377, 380, 389, 391, 392, 394, 396, 397 and 399 service the area.

 

Can I bring a guest?

Each graduate will have the option to reserve 2 guest tickets to celebrate your graduation with you. Further information on how to request tickets will be provided in the formal invite.

 

What documents do I receive?

You will receive a testamur and an academic transcript.

 

When will I receive my documentation if I am not able to attend the ceremony?

We will endeavour to forward your documentation within 2 weeks of conferral to the mailing address supplied on your application to graduate. Please contact us should you need to update your address on or before conferral. Please note a $60.00 fee will be incurred for any re-print requests.

 

Can I collect my documentation rather than have the documents forwarded?

Should you wish to collect your documentation at one of our offices, please contact the Practitioner Education team on postgrad@collaw.edu.au to discuss further.

 

Can I track my documents?

All documents will be tracked. If yours have not been received within the 2-week time frame, please contact us to obtain the tracking number.

 

What post-nominals can be used?

Can I use my pos-nominals before conferral?

Until your award is formally conferred by the Chief Academic Officer, you have not yet graduated. Therefore, you will need to wait until after the conferral to use the post nominal.

 

Can I get a certificate of completion ahead of converral?

We can forward a current transcript ahead of conferral via request to postgrad@collaw.edu.au

 

What's the best way to promote my new qualification?

We’ll send you instructions on how to download your custom e-signatures to display in your professional emails, and social badges to share on LinkedIn, Facebook or Instagram, reflecting your award and achievement. If the email is not received by COB on the day of conferral please check your spam or contact us using the details provided below.

 

When will the next graduation be held?

Graduation ceremonies are generally hosted twice a year in May and November.

 

Where/when will information as to my achievements be shared by the college?

You will have the opportunity to have your name and award listed alongside your fellow graduates on the College website, and through our College social media channels. If you do not wish to have your details listed, please advise our Customer Engagement team at postgrad@collaw.edu.au prior to conferral.

 

Can I progress to a higher award or enrol in a second master's?

Absolutely! Please contact us at postgrad@collaw.edu.au or on 02 9965 7111 should you wish to discuss the progression opportunities that are available to you.
